Pastor Linda & Friends in Ecuador.

“Lord of all life, you created the universe, where all living things reflect your glory. You give us this great and beautiful earth to discover and to cherish….”

From pets to wild animals, dry river beds to deep wells of water – we cherish this fragile earth, our island home, and want to open our eyes and hearts in ever greater wonder and gratitude. Our Eucharist celebrations throughout October will be more Celtic and creation based in design.

We celebrate the Feast of St. Francis on the first Sunday in October. Bring your pets for blessing – and read inside for some examples of our care for creation. Dee Myers writes about our October outreach collections for SPCA, and Lynda Campbell writes of unconditional love.  Tim Knapp updates us on solar savings. As part of our stewardship of our sacred grounds, we welcome Ernesto Ascensio, who is taking on the massive task of upgrading our irrigation systems so our plants can thrive with minimum water.

Our 2019 annual campaign begins this month. Transformational Tithing is the theme and our hope is that the campaign will be a spiritual blessing to you.

Jesus and the saints of the church practiced stillness in God’s presence – what we today might call meditation. How do you practice stillness? Sandy French and Linda Kodet share their stories inside.

God’s peace,

For the Right Use of God's Gifts

Almighty God, whose loving hand hath given us all that we possess: Grant us grace that we may honor thee with our substance,   and, remembering the account which we must one day give, may be faithful stewards of thy bounty, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
