God Is Love: The Heart of All Creation

Sunday’s at 9 in the Library

β€œCreation is of the order of love. God’s love is the fundamental moving force in all created things. … In this universe, shaped by open intercommunicating systems, we can discern countless forms of relationships and participation….

Faith allows us to interpret the meaning and the mysterious beauty of what is unfolding. We are free to apply our intelligence towards things evolving positively, or towards adding new ills, new cause of suffering and real setbacks. This is what makes for the drama of human history, in which freedom, growth, salvation and love can blossom, or lead toward decadence and mutual destruction.

Laudato Si: On the Care of our Common Home
Pope Francis Gazing at the night sky has always been a source of wonder and comfort for me. We are so, so small in such a great and grand universe. And yet the Maker of it all descends to be one with us through Christ and can be known in the created world as we see it, touch it. Through October and into November, I will host a 9 a.m. Sunday morning 50 minute gathering in the parish library on the theme of Love at the Heart of All Creation. Our guide will be Fr. Thomas Keating, and our discussions will range from cosmology to evolution to prayer.
