Week of May 21

Dear Yellow Family,

What a special surprise.  Thank you all for all the gifts from the Yellow Family.  The Gingersnap rose tree is beautiful.  It is my favorite rose color too.  With each blossom of each rose, I will think of the children of the Yellow Family.  Ms. Nikki and I appreciate all you have given us and all the support you have shown throughout the year. 

Last week we learned the body parts of an insect.  We sang a song to help them remember their parts.  Ask your child to sing you the “Head, thorax and abdomen song”.  It’s to the tune of “Head, shoulders knees and toes.”  We made paper plate lady bugs.   Also, we made a good-bye book for our friend Sean, who will be leaving our school.  He will be going to different school closer and more convenient to his mom’s work. 

Next week, the 5-Day class will have a Switch-Roo Day on Monday, May 21. The teachers and the children are switching schools for the day.  Different from what I said last week, ALL DROP OFFS AND PICK-UPS WILL BE AT THE CHURCH SITE.   If you arrive early at 7:30 – 8:30 come directly to the church site, I will be at there to greet you.  All the children who stay for the Afternoon Enrichment program will be transported by the teachers back to the Grange to meet Ms. Lois.

For science we will continue discussing insects, we will learn where they live and what they eat.  We will discuss how we can attract Ladybug into our garden.    We will continue to have police officer dress ups outside.  We will add car booster seats and discuss car safety. We will make veggie pizzas for snack.

Saturday  5/19   New Parent Orientation at the church site 10-12pm

Monday   5/21   Switch-A-Roo Day field trip. 

Monday   5/28   Memorial Day.  School closed. 

Tuesday  6/5     Circle of Friends Celebration for T/Th and 5 Day Class at 10:10.  This is a minimum day with no afternoon enrichment

Wednesday 6/6  Circle of Friends Celebration for 5 day and Blue Family classes at 12:00.  This is a minimum day with no afternoon enrichment.
