7 Questions to Ask Yourself – Your Kids Will Thank You Later
Adapted from work by Susan Vogt,
1. How do you balance family and work time? What does that teach your children about the value of income and time for family relationship and activities?
2. How is the world different now than when you were growing up? How are you raising your children differently from how you were raised? How are you passing on Christ-centered values?
3. What difference has technology made in your family’s lifestyle from when you grew up? How are you helping your children not spend too much time with technology?
4. What do you hope your children will remember? What kind of memories and traditions are you creating in your family? What Christian values do you want them to thank you for later?
5. What relationship skills are you teaching your children now? How will those values influence the life they will have when they grow up?
6. Are you concerned about violence in schools, the media, racism, disrespect, premarital sex, or just putting food on the table? How are you teaching your children to be ‘peaceful persons’? Do your children see too much violence on T.V.?
7. What are some of your family rules and limits? How do your children respond to limitations? How do you respond to human limitations?
Let Pastor Linda know if you’d like to discuss these questions with other parents and we will set up a group. revlinda@goodshepherdcorral.org
