We seek to know Christ in our lives and to make Christ known through our actions in the world.
We are an Episcopal parish of the Diocese of El Camino Real, connected to the National Episcopal Church USA, which is a member of the Anglican Communion. We use the Book of Common Prayer, 1979 for our Sunday worship and daily personal worship.
Worship forms the core of our church life. Music, from piano to violin to guitar, singing from Classical to Gregorian to Taize to Cursillo to Emmy Lou Harris – is loved. Flowers, from local gardens and nurseries, grace the worship space. Liturgy changes with the changing seasons.
Children and Youth are treasured. Bill Shelby, Coordinator for Youth Ministries, works closely with Pastor Linda to provide safe, fun and growth filled lessons on Sunday mornings, and once a month youth groups on the 3rd Saturday of the month.
Reaching out to others in love and compassion is a core value. Food is brought every Sunday morning for the Monterey Food Bank. Handmade shawls from the Prayer Shawl Knitters are blessed and distributed far and wide. Heifer Ark is an ongoing multi-generational project. Homeless men are fed and housed at the Parish Hall once a month.
Spiritual formation provides growth and depth. Sunday School uses art, games, discussions to explore the Sunday readings. Godly Play stories are used during the 9 a.m. Family Service. Confirm not Conform is our youth and adult confirmation program. We meet in small groups for Bible Study and for healing prayer.
